Does it ever feel like the world is speeding up, but you are being left behind?
If so, you’re not alone.
According to the World Economic Forum, 85 million jobs will be lost globally in the next five years. Companies are automating much quicker and thanks to the Pandemic, more and more workers can work remotely, which means many companies don’t need to source locally to find talent anymore.
Combined, the changes from new technologies, the pandemic and the shift to automation lead to one thing:
All of us need to be updating our skills, all the time … if you want to thrive in the years and decade ahead.
In fact, in the next few years 1 in 2 employees will need reskilling. And 40% of those who keep their jobs will need to update their skills, rapidly, if they want to stay relevant and – this is the key – hireable.
But how do you stay relevant so you stay hireable?
Rick Warren, author of the Purpose Driven Life, shares several good points in the following video.
Are you changing fast enough?
A lot of people fear change. They fear where life is going. They fear they’re going to be left behind. So they don’t take action. They delay. They push things off. They never upskill.
But change is just a different name for learning.
Ricks’s DNA formula for staying relevant is a good one:
Develop a LAB mentality.
Never stop learning.
Acknowledge the growth.
But it doesn’t go far enough.
Why learn at regular speed … when NLP has the technologies to help you learn far, far faster.
As you know, NLP at its core, is about the is study of success. Specifically, the study of successful behaviours. Not just what you can see, but the internal programs that can’t be seen with the eye. But can be elicited, codified and modelled.
Modeling is at the heart of NLP.
If someone is really good at staying relevant, at getting promoted at work, at acquiring new skills really fast, etc. Then it’s because they have a way to do those things successfully.
And those skills, along with many others can be modelled.
There are only 3 key skills you need to master that encompass all the rest.
I’ll talk about them in a future mail.
For now, think about:
Tell me here, I’d love to show you how you can acquire these skills faster.
Talk soon,
Tom
