LESSON 1

One Of The Very Best Scenes In TV History Everyone Should See

(That can teach you a lot about the right way to use NLP)

There’s little doubt that we’re living through a golden age in TV.

That doesn’t mean all of it is great, but occasionally a series breaks through the noise and captures the hearts of millions.

Mad Men was one such show that even today, 12 years on from when this show first aired, still packs an emotional punch - because of scenes like the one you are about to watch…

Perhaps one of the big reasons for its success is because it deals with the gaping chasm shared by everyone at some stage of their life.

The gap between who they are and who they wish to be.

Here’s a quick background in case you aren’t familiar with the show:

We join creative director Don Draper as he pitches to Kodak’s executives on how to sell their new ‘wheel’ technology for showing photos.

As you watch, notice how it makes you feel and the impact it has on his clients.

Now that you’ve watched the video, were you aware of the brilliant examples of NLP in action?

  • Were you able to track how he used language to evoke states and create a compelling story they couldn’t resist but join?

  • Did you see how he guided and directed attention to beyond the client’s limited frame around how to introduce the ‘wheel’ technology?

  • Were you able to capture and codify the strategies he used to leave them speechless? If you didn’t go back and have another look.

Many times the best examples of NLP you’ll ever witness are by people who don’t know any NLP.

NLP isn’t about learning a set of techniques. It’s about studying successful behaviours, whatever form they take.

Everything you need is literally right out in the open for you to capture and use - in your own life, and with colleagues and clients.

One area where many people struggle to use NLP is in business contexts.

Kinda crazy when you think about how much of your life involves work – and working with others.

Applying NLP in business is dead easy - once you understand it from first principles.

You see, there is a handful of organizing principles that once you master – free you to use this incredible toolkit effortlessly anytime you want.

I’ll be sharing some more helpful resources in the next 3 days so you can discover how easy it can be to use NLP in business to rise to the top.

Stay tuned,

Tom
